Madlax

MADLAX is from the director and character designer of Noir, and shares many similarities. The writer for MADLAX is Yousuke Kuroda, famed writer of sCRYed, Infinite Ryvius and Gungrave. Kajiura is composing and Bee Train is once again animating.

The story revolves around two female leads (just like Noir), one older and one younger.

The younger character, Margerette Barton is a daughter in an aristocratic family in a peaceful European country. She has no freedom of her own and her only companion is her maid Elenor. It seems that some aircraft accident 12 years ago caused her to lose her memory before then.

On the other end of the spectrum we have MADLAX, nameless elite agent with no past who fights in war-torn countries filled with chaos. It`s also mentioned that the war-torn country in particular is located in Asia with jungle enviroments. No one knows MADLAX`s true name or age and she is a true combat specialist in the field.

The theme of MADLAX is supposed to be war and how it affects people and the consequence/tragedy of murder, violence and lawlessness. The two characters are supposed to be parallels of lifestyles.

Mafukiden: Pandarian

A long time ago...
As evil pervaded mankind, God grew angry and decided to destroy the world. However, there was one person on the defiled earth whose soul was righteous and humane. Thus, God summoned an angel to earth to inform Noah of the imminent Armageddon, allowing Noah to build a large ark to avoid the disaster and handed him a cane as a symbol of life.

A panda overheard the angel and Noah's conversation. And the news was spread out in the panda village. The pandas decided to make a plan to save themselves by imitating Noah's idea of building an ark. Soon, rain fell and flooded everything that was living and non-living. Suddenly, Noah's ark rose into the air along with the pandas' boat.

The storm severed panda's tiny boat and the pandas were tossed out into the galaxy by a strong wave and onto some unknown planet. During the flood amidst the thrashing waves, Noah lost his cane.

A long time afterwards...
On the planet where the pandas began to settle, there is an island called "TV Island." On this particular island, the pandas' sole enjoyment is to buy a "TV seed," plant it, water it, fertilize it and wait until the seed gradually sprouts into a television. Everyone lives happily on TV island. However, one day havoc eroded this peaceful land. Evil corrupted the hearts of the benevolent pandas; and soon, they grew hostile to each other. Toby, a panda from the countryside who is also caught in this destruction, decides to save all fellow pandas on TV Island. Magical DoReMi

The translated title of the show is "Unskilled Witch Doremi". The story first focuses on Doremi Harukaze (pink witch), a child who sometimes feels she doesn`t have any luck on her side.

Doremi`s life was about to change when she stumbles into an old shop called MAHO-DOU (Magic Shop) The owner of the shop is an old witch named Majorika. Doremi panics and yells the word "witch" which causes Majorika to transform into a green blob almost permanantly. Majorika makes Doremi a witch in training in order to turn her back into a human.
Doremi must also run the magic store since Majorika is now a green blob, Doremi immediately agrees and receives a transformation brooch called a Rhythm Tap, a regular brown broom to fly, and a magic wand that feeds on magic beads.

Doremi starts her adventure by learning basic magic and flying. Her lone adventure doesn`t last however when her cover is blown by her best friend Hazuki Fujiwara (orange witch), and new transfer student Aiko Seno (blue witch). Majorika gives the 2 girls a chance to become student witches as well in order to protect the true identity of Doremi.

The girls real adventure starts in living their everyday lives by going to school, and working part time at the Magic shop. The 3 girls renovate MAHO-DOU into a nicer looking shop to attract customers.

Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora

The story is set in present day Tokyo. Much of the setting is based upon real areas, the more obvious ones being the Shibuya Crossing and Tokyo Tower. The main backdrop of the series where they all reside is in Shimokitazawa, roughly 6 minutes west of Shibuya on the Keio Inokashira Line. In Tokyo is the Bureau of Magic, which employs Mage Labour for certain special requests by everyday people. However, the mages must only use their magic with special permission, and any unlicensed use results in a penalty.

Maison Ikkoku is a romanic comedy series created by Rumiko Takahashi. The story centers around the development of the relationship between Kyoko Otonashi and Yusaku Godai. Maria-sama ga Miteru is based on a series of novels by Konno Oyuki, about girls who attend Lillian Girls` Academy, a Catholic school.

Lillian Academy`s Student Council is called the Mountain Lily Council. The Council is composed of three girls, each of whom takes a flower title: Rosa Gigantea (white); Rosa Sinensis (red); Rosa Foetida (yellow).
Each Rosa can take a junior, referred to as "Rosa ... en bouton" [burgeoning rose]. Each "en bouton" is allowed to pick a junior, referred to as "Rosa ... en bouton petite soeur." The usual pattern is a senior student as Rosa, a second-year student as "en bouton" and a first-year student as "petite soeur" [little sister].

The heroine of the story, Fukuzawa Yumi, is a cute first-year student at Lillian Academy, who is also the `petite soeur` of Sachiko (the "Rosa Shinensis en bouton"). The series is based around the lives of the other Mountain Lily Council members.

With the entry of Sachiko`s distant relative, Matsudaira Touko, Yumi`s position as Sachiko`s `petite soeur` is threatened. Yumi desperately tries to keep Sachiko`s waning attention, praying that people`s feelings, unlike a chrysanthemum`s color, don`t change.

Mazinger-Z

During an archeological expedition on the Aegean Sea, two world renowned scientists, Dr.Hell and Dr.Kabuto, discovered the secret weapons of the Mikenese Empire, giant robots, which the empire used to protect their many treasures and drive invaders away from their island.

Whereas everyone else thought that these findings were of great positive value to humanity Dr.Hell saw them as a tool that he could use to take over the world. Immediately he ordered the Mikenese robots to attack the rest of the expeditionary group so that no one else knew of his plans. However, Dr.Kabuto managed to escape and go back to Japan, where he began working on the only weapon that would be able to stand up to Dr.Hell`s plans for conquest, Mazinger-Z.

Dr.Kabuto`s robot, Mazinger-Z was the result of two of the Doctor`s secret projects, a new metal alloy known as super alloy Z (composed of a new element discovered on the stratum of Mt.Fuji known as Japanium) and a new energy source (Photo-Atomic energy). However before he could tell anyone about Mazinger-Z Dr.Hell`s minions, lead by Baron Ashler, caught up to Kabuto and were quick to bomb his home/laboratory. Thankfully Dr.Kabuto`s grandchildren, Koji and Shiro arrived at his demolished home before he passed away and was the dying man was able to tell them about Mazinger-Z and Dr.Hell`s nefarious plans.

Angered by his grandfather`s death Koji set out to learn how to use Mazinger-Z and even though at first he didn`t know how to control the machine he eventually mastered the robot`s controls and with the help of the Photo-Atomic Research Institute began his long battle against Dr.Hell`s robot army.

Meitantei Holmes

The series is action packed, and really fun to watch. All the characters such as Holmes, Watson, Mrs. Hudson, and Prof. Moriarty were made into dogs. Holmes is a lot younger and more active than in the novels (he drives a car and does a lot of car chases). Mrs. Hudson, now a 19 year old widow, gets a piece of the action.

It was made as a joint project between Tokyo Movie Shinsha and an Italian TV station, RAI, in 1981. Hayao MIYAZAKI directed 6 episodes (3-5 and 9-11), but the production was put on hold due to a copyright dispute with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle`s estate. In 1984, after the copyright dispute was finally resolved, Tokyo Movie Shinsha decided to make more episodes of Holmes and to air it as a TV series as originally planned, with totally different staff members from the first 6 episodes.

Matsunaga Tomomi and Matsunaga Mikage are twins with completely different personalities. Tomomi shows a tomboy attitude with a love for sports and short hair. Both of the girls have boyfriends.

Director Mitsuo Kukada uses CG to choreograph some very snazzy mecha battles, in space, within Heliopolis, and on Earth, often with a fine disregard for the laws of physics.

If that wasn ‚ ‚ ‘ ‚ ‚ Ύ ‚ t strange enough, it turns out San`s parents are mob bosses. Nagasumi is left with the choice of either death or marrying San. He chooses to marry a mermaid.

This would likely be that, except San`s father and some members of the mob are not exactly thrilled to have Nagasumi courting San and are determined to bring an end to their relationship--or him. And there is also the matter of keeping it a secret that San is a mermaid.

Book Synopsis: In the prologue, the 17 year old Judy Davis, the oldest girl in the orphanage, is told that she is being given a college scholarship by an anonymous benefactor, because of her brilliance in English at school. At the orphanage she has had to look after the younger children and do housework. The only condition is that she has to write a monthly letter to her nameless benefactor. At college she finds herself in a completely different world. The rest of the book consists of her letters describing her busy new life.
