This anime is based on a yaoi/shonen-ai Manga series by Kazuya Minekura [Gensomaden Saiyuki] titled Shiritsu Araiso Koutougakkou Seitokai Shikkoubu which translates to Araiso Private High School Student Council, Executive Committee. The two male lead characters, Kubota and Tokitou, are a couple who work as "Guards" in Araiso Private High School. Its their job to keep the peace around the school. Shoujo Tsubaki

This is surely one of the most bizarre and mystery-shrouded anime features of the last decade: Midori. The name will probably not be familiar, but the comic on which the film was based has been released here under the title Mr. Arashi`s Amazing Freak Show. Yes, this film is an adaptation of a comic by the uncontested king of ero-guro, Maruo Suehiro. It`s remarkable enough that a Maruo Suehiro anime exists in the first place, but no less remarkable are the circumstances surrounding the film`s origin and presentation to the public.

Where to begin? First of all, Midori is a rather hard film to classify. It`s anime, but it`s not. Anime is known for being rather limited, but this film takes limited to a whole new level. It`s closer to a kami shibai or paper play, a type of one-man entertainment that was popular in pre-WWII Japan. Maruo`s original comic is in fact an adaptation of a kami shibai, so it`s an appropriate analogy. And the remarkable thing is that this anime version really is a one-man entertainment: every drawing you see in the 52 minute film was drawn by one person, thereby making it true to the spirit of the original - a modern kami shibai. Attempting such a thing is pretty much pure insanity. It wound up taking this person five years to make the film. The madman in question is one Hiroshi Harada &#21407;&#30000;&#28009;.

Slam Dunk (1994)

Although the movie is centered on the practice game between Shohoku and Takezono, the actual story is more concentrated on the process of Sakuragi Hanamichi, the genius who just recently discovered the wonderful sport known as basketball, to truly realize his desire to win and to fully understand the meaning for one to play basketball. In this OVA, Sakuragi faces off with his old love-rival and current game enemy, Oda. Although now Sakuragi is deeply in love with Haruko, the wound left by his 50th dump by Yoko still exists at the bottom of his heart. Bearing his defeat to Oda in the competition to win Yoko`s attention, Sakuragi is determined to win in this practice game. He wants to prove to Oda that even though he`s still a beginner basketball player, he`s genius abilities qualify him to compete with the Shohoku ace. In the end, we see Sakuragi truly realizes how much Oda loves basketball and begins to neglect his hatred and idea of revenge, instead, as Sakuragi starts to concentrate more on basketball, his true superhuman strength begins to show.

Slayers Gorgeous

As usual, the movie opens with Naga and Lina in a nameless town, stuffing their faces. While discussing their most recent culinary aquisitions, they notice the townspeople vacting the area with great haste. Just as the last person gets indoors, lina and Naga (along with some typically useless guards) are greeted by a young lady in armor riding a red dragon, and laughing manaically. A brief skirmish later, Marlene (the armored, manaically laughing lass) and her Dragon beat a hasty retreat, and Lina is invited to meet the King in the hopes that she might be able to solve their problems. Turns out young Marlene is actually the King`s daughter, and happens to be going through a "rebellious phase" ; She want`s her allowance raised but her daddy refused, so she`s taken to harassing the town with her dragons until he gives in...Meanwhile Naga has followed Marlene to her stronghold, to teach her a thing or two about how to laugh PROPERLY, for a price of course. Once again it`s Lina vs. Naga, and Father vs. Daughter in a no-holds-barred, Dragon-fighting, spell-tossing extravaganza!

Slayers Great

This time around, Lina and Naga travel through a strange town ruled over by two goofy looking barons, who hate each others guts. While travelling through the city, they save a young girl from a rampaging bull golem. They later find out that not only are golems the main export of the town, but that the girl`s father is the legendary Galia Einberg, master golem craftsman. Both Lina and Naga are just dying to have him make a golem for them (so they can sell it off at a high price, of course) but he hasn`t built a golem in a long time. Instead, he has been fighting with his son, an amateur craftsman who would rather make golems shaped like Venus than the useful and silly looking ones his father makes; until they meet our two heroines, that is. Galia takes one look at Lina and is enthusiastic about building a golem of her, much to Naga`s chagrin, but his son is completely enamoured by the busty, manaical laughing sorceress. Both father and son have been commisioned to build a golem for one of the barons, to be pitted against each other in a duel to the death. Though the Barons are planning on using the golems to build an invincible army, the craftsmen, in a battle of their own, have other ideas...

Stratos 4 (2004)

Submarine 707R

In order to keep ocean peace, PKN was organized. It consisted of the state-of-the-art battle ships of various countries. However, they were raided during the foundation ceremony by the unidentified organization, USR, which plotted to conquer the world. They couldn ‚ ‚ ‘ ‚ ‚ Ύ ‚ t be much for the submarine UX which was operated by Admiral Red of USR. But an old Japanese submarine, the 707 saved them, which was operated Captain Hayami at the risk of his life.

One year later, succeeding to the 707, which had been ruined during the former fight, newly developed submarine, the 707 II, went for a sail. Among the crews, there were boys, such as Kenji, Goro, and Senta, who had been trainees. PKN formed a fleet led by the Great Guardian, which was the latest battle ship of the United States. However, the attacks of Submarine U were very server, and the fleet was defeated. Then, the 707 arrived. As soon as Red noticed the 707, he was glad to reunion with his rival and began to fight.

Escaping from the submarine attack, they hid the 707 in the valley. But Red tried to destroy the valley in order to put the 707 into the torrents of mud. The 707 nearly escaped from it and got in the crater. However it was the pure water layer where the submarine couldn ‚ ‚ ‘ ‚ ‚ Ύ ‚ t float up. At the moment, numerous torpedoes launched to the 707.

Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Flash Back 2012

This half hour music video was released two years after the movie Macross: Do You Remember Love? Though it is an OVA, it`s not one in a traditional sense. There is a very brief story here, but for the most part it`s all clips from the movie and TV series set to various Minmay songs. As far as the story goes, nine months have passed since the end of the TV series and the final battle with Kamjin. In those nine months the Macross has been repaired and is nearly fully restored. In the meantime, construction has finished on the new SDF-2 Megaroad-01. Serving as the captain is Misa, who has married Hikaru. As the fleet prepares to launch, Minmay gives her last concert in Macross City. Hikaru tests the new VF-4 Lightning III variable fighter, and Minmay packs for her trip. After having one last look at the concert hall, she boards the Megaroad-01, which takes off from Earth and heads out into space to spread out the human race.

Some people might have preferred a real OVA instead of a music video, but since this is the last time we will ever see any of the classic characters, I`m satisfied. It is good to see Hikaru, Misa and Minmay after the end of the TV series, and it`s good to see they`ve aged a little bit. We also get to see the Macross redesigned and looking very much like the movie version. The reason for this is that the new footage from this OVA was originally meant to be the ending for the movie, but it wasn`t quite ready. Using the footage here convienently updates the old TV designs and makes them fit with what we see later in Macross Plus. This OVA is worth a viewing just to see everyone one last time.

The movie was later put on rental video by Vap Video. The video's very hard to find now, even in Japan, apparently. Copies of the tape can go for as much as $180 on Japanese auction sites. A film comic was published in Japan at the same time as well.
