Yoyogi agrees to restore Tamaki to her original form if Takane wins a race against him, with his broken bicycle. Can Takane win the race rescue Tamaki?

Tale of a Street Corner

This is a private animated piece that expresses feelings rather than telling a story. It can be said that Tezuka Osamu, frustrated with working for big companies, made an attempt here to depict what he really wanted in his animation. This work illustrates that even a poster on the wall can have a vivid drama behind it, and brings the magic of animation alive for us.

Tattoon Master

Hibio Hibino (or "Eric," if you get the dub) is a short-fused, blunt and occasionally violent teenaged boy with a chip on his shoulder about life in general and women in particular (especially class president Fujimatsu ("Lisa" in the dub. His mother, an archaeologist, encountered a mysterious desert tribe called Tattoon, whose members practice what is called "pattern magic." Nima ("Bala" in dubspeak), the leader of the tribe, was shown a Hibino family photo, and she was so taken with Hibio that she decides to mysteriously appear in front of him, out of thin air, and announce that they are to be married, which doesn`t please him. He hopes to get rid of her somehow, but it`s hard for him to do that when she bounces out of the front doorway to greet him with open arms. The character design shows a very obvious Urushihara influence (minus the nudity), but what`s wrong with that, apart from the fact that only two OVAs were made?

The Boy Who Saw the Wind

The Boy Who Saw the Wind is a gentle film, based on the novel by the Welsh-born cult author C.W. Nicol (who now lives in Japan). His writings are also said to have inspired Hayao Miyazaki to set Laputa - Castle in the Sky in a Welsh mining village.

The Cat Returns

This movie is somehow related to Whisper of the heart, it follows Muta (the cat from Whisper of the heart) and Baron (the cat statue in Whisper of the heart, also used in Shizuku`s story). The story is based on Neko no Danshaku (Baron of Cat) by Hiiragi Aoi.

The main character of the story is Haru. Haru is a clueless, ordinary 17 year-old girl. She has no special abilities and neither is she an extraordinary beauty. One day, Haru saved the life of a cat without consideration of her own safety. The cat turned out to be the Cat Prince from the Kingdom of Cats, however as a result, Haru is trapped in the world of cats. Can Baron and Muta rescue Haru who has wandered in the world of cats?

The Cockpit

Miaka, Tamahome, Keisuke and Tetsuya visit the grave of Byakko no Miko (Suzuno Osugi). She is pretty much like Miaka, except with the love of Tamahome, Miaka and Tamahome can cross the world inside the book. However, as Miaka and others decided to move and visit the grave of Genbu No Miko (Takiko Okuda), Tamahome is suddenly surrounded by red light and being pulled back into the world inside the book, in fact he is back in Konan Country.

Keisuke, Tetsuya and Yui soon discovered that a new Miko is summoned into the book which will erase other miko`s, including Miaka and Yui, unless of course the problem is stopped...

The Prince of Tennis - Two Samurai: The First Game

"Ryoma`s brother?! Here comes Ryoga Echizen!"

A conspiracy involving the members of the Aogaku tennis team takes place on a cruise ship. The ship sails along the Pacific, carrying a group of high profile celebrities from all over the world, enjoying their vacations. Among these flamboyant crowds are the members of the Aogaku tennis team, who have been cordially invited to play in the Exhibition Match on the cruise, hosted by a fanatic tennis-lover millionaire, Hikomaro Sakurafubuki.

While the members are prepping for the match for the next day, a group of opponents walk up. Ryoma is cold and blunt as usual. But he is encountered by a boy who calls himself Ryoga Echizen, and says that he is Ryoma`s elder brother. Everybody is flabbergasted, including Ryoma himself.

That night, Tezuka and Oishi are called to Sakurafubuki`s room and asked to lose the match tomorrow. The Exhibition Match turns out to be an illegal event, where the rich guests bet millions on the players. Threatened by Sakurafubuki to conspire in the gamble, the team hesitates having nowhere to get away to except for the ocean. Tezuka on the other hand refuses to give in, but what about the rest of the team? What about Ryoma?

Time Stranger Kyoko

The OVA is based on the manga with the same title by Tanemura Arina published in Ribon magazine.

Kyoko Suomi is a princess and she has to reveal herself on her 16th birthday. But she does not like the idea because she wants to lead her normal life. Her father suggest that she still can lead to normal life if she can awaken her twin sister, Ui, so she can take her place as the princess.

However, Ui will not awaken until a clock under her bed is removed. To remove the clock, Kyoko needs twelve stones and the people to control them. Kyoko manages to gain control of the first stone found which allows her to manipulate time. Now Kyoko has to find the other stones along with the people who can control them...

This short animation has an entirely different plot however. Won`t it be fun to find out what it is.

Today in Class 5-2

This one-volume manga by Sakuraba Koharu portrays the fifth grade in a... different light. The chapters ran in Young Magazine, a relatively small publication, and were then released in volume form, when it gained some cult following.

What makes this manga particularly unique is not it`s characters, which represent fairly run-of-the-mill manga personalities like those found in FLCL, Azumanga, and even Sister Princess--which should give you a pretty good idea of what does make this manga interesting: the perfect blend of school humor, plain ridiculousness, and raging sexual innuendo.
